Multi-Color LEDs |

Bi-Color and Tri-Color LEDs--two colors in one standard 3mm or 5mm package! How do they work? There's multiple legs on them (with the exception of our 5mm Flashing BGR)!
Our Bi-Color LEDs have three legs and are common cathode meaning one of the legs is the negative lead and each of the others is a positive lead (one for each color). Our 5mm Tri-Color Full Spectrum LEDs are common anode meaning one of the legs is the positive lead and each of the others is a negative lead for one of the colors. We match our chips for uniform light output.
For example, take a 3mm Bi-Color Blue/Red LED. If you want blue luminescence you'd connect the common negative lead and the positive lead pertaining to blue to your power source. If you want red luminescence you'd connect the common negative lead and the positive lead pertaining to red to your power source. If you want both colors shining then power both negative leads at once!
