Need some wire for a project and don't want to spend the money for a whole roll? Buy per foot! The gauge of a wire is its thickness with a smaller number designating a thicker wire.
If you're not sure what thickness you need go with 26-Gauge--it will do the trick for 90% of at-home hobby and modding applications (those not drawing a large amount of current). 18-Gauge is recommended for automotive projects.
Resistors
